CSULB Film

The film department hates us and thinks we will break their computers. We will not be able to use their Final Cut Pro software. We are considering other options.
Shot about 30 minutes of footage of the neighborhood and dance practice. Definitely contains usable material, but I need to work on my technique, panning abilities and zooms.
We will be shooting again this weekend, getting some church and general footage.
Still looking into structure, but we have a better idea of framing story.
Family remains excited with film process, this is good.

work-to-date

10/06
Shot about 30 minutes of interview, 15 minutes of filler shots of the room, and some of downtown Santa Ana.

10/19
Captured the footage, which Final Cut Express decided not to play. All is lost.

10/21
Captured the footage again. Broke it down into specific topics. Final Cut Express decides not to be helpful again, but the footage is playable in Quicktime.

10/22
Started editting in iMovie, which still is uncooperative, but atleast always editting.

10/23
Long night of editting, iMovie is incredibly annoying.

10/24
iMovie decides to make more trouble. Ken Burns is most likely at fault. The rejection sound nearly drives me to madness.

10/25
Presenting the video today, which is still a very rough copy, but since we are not using it for the actual film, we do not feel that guilty. We are going to edit using Final Cut Pro in the Film Department for the actual film.
